Walgreens diversity issues: A weakness that was gained subsequent to the information gathered from research and surveys is that as a company it is true that diversity is practiced but may differ at stores; stores tend to lack a wide range of diversity. One may ask how that is possible. Let me explain stated Wasson, â€Å"We understand that we serve our customer and patient best when our workforce and suppliers reflect our communities† (Walgreens.com/diversity) which may be beneficial on a financial stance by making customers feel more comfortable which may lead more spending but gives wrong impression to outsiders. For instance if a customer were to come from another neighborhood and shop at a Walgreen’s which they noticed all of one race it†¦show more content†¦So we went ahead and had private conversations with employees to receive the â€Å"truth† Some stayed firm; others stated that improvement will be necessary. Although the fact still stands that Walgreens manages diversity s ystematically, issues such as loyalty, dishonesty, and trust in the workplace still occur and maybe more often than expected. Recommendations: Walgreens is one of the companies that manage diversity well, as mentioned before Walgreens is widely scattering diversity throughout training programs which are delivered at every level. In such programs Walgreens make emphasis on what is expected from employees in concern diversity as well as Walgreens obligations with diverse employees. The training programs endorse cultural awareness to teach employees about others cultures and how to behave with sensitivity. Walgreens has established comprehensive policies and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state labor and employment laws. However, according to our research and survey, Walgreens is facing a problem in how to practice diversity in different stores. According to Melvin, Walgreens’s diverse customers vary depending in which area or suburb the store is located. In some stores Walgreens do not really have training diversity programs.
